Ingredients for Jeera Aloo Recipe

Potatoes – 400 grams (boiled and peeled)
Oil – 2 to 3 tbsp
Green coriander – 2 to 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
Red chilly powder – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Dry mango powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Ginger baton – 1 inch (grated)
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – less than 1/4 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp or to taste
Green chilly – 2 (slit lengthwise)
Dry fenugreek leaves – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida – 1 to 2 pinch

How to make Stir Fry Boiled Aloo with Zeera

Heat a pan for preparing jeera aloo. Meanwhile cut the potatoes. For this, take a potato and divide it into four parts. Here potatoes used are small-medium in size, so cut them in four parts. Bigger potatoes can be diced into more chunks.

When the pan is sufficiently hot, add 2 tbsp oil in to it. When the oil is heated well, splutter cumin seeds and asafoetida first.

Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder, green chilly, ginger, dry fenugreek leaves, red chilly powder and potatoes.

Keep stirring constantly to prevent spices from browning.

After this add salt, garam masala and mango powder and stir to mix everything really well. Stir and roast the sabzi for 3 to 4 minutes.

Jeera aloo is ready, mix some green coriander into it and turn off the flame. Serve these stir fried jeera aloo with steaming hot chapatti, naan or parantha or pack them in tiffin.

Ingredients for Jeera Aloo Recipe

Potatoes 1 inch pieces, boiled 4 large
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Oil 4 tablespoons
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Coriander seeds crushed 1 tablespoon
Roasted cumin powder 1 teaspoon
Dry mango powder (amchur) 1/2 teaspoon
Fresh coriander leaves 2 tablespoons

Method

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till it changes colour. Add salt and stir.

Add red chilli powder, crushed coriander seeds, roasted cumin powder and dry mango powder.

Add potato cubes and stir carefully till the masala covers all the potato cubes well.

Add coriander leaves and stir. Serve hot.

For Aloo Simla Mirch

1 tbsp Oil, तेल
1 tsp Cumin Seeds, जीरा
1 Medium Onion, chopped प्याज
1 inch Ginger, chopped, अदरक
2-3 Garlic Cloves, chopped, लहसुन
2 Bell Pepper , Cubed, शिमला मिर्च
1 tsp Sugar, चीनी
1 tsp Ghee, घी
4-5 Potato, boiled, cubed, आलू
½ tsp Turmeric Powder, हल्दी पाउडर
½ tsp Red Chilli powder, लाल मिर्च पाउडर
¼ tsp Garam Masala, गरम मसाला
¼ tsp Coriander Powder, धनिया पाउडर
¼ cup Water, पानी
1 Tomato, cubed, टमाटर
Salt To Taste , नमक स्वादअनुसार

Process

For Aloo Shimla Mirch

Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add cumin seeds let it crackle.

Add chopped ginger, garlic and onions mix well.

Add bell pepper, sugar and ghee. saute for a few minutes until tender and begin to start changing color. the bell pepper would be lightly browned around the edges and softened too.

Stir in the boiled potatoes, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder, coriander powder, salt to taste and tomatoes.

Stir the vegetables along with the spices until well coated with the spices. cover the pan; turn the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once done, turn off the heat, stir with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Serve aloo simla mirch ki sabzi recipe along with phulkas.

For Jeera Aloo

In a pan, heat oil on medium flame and mustard oil let the oil become hot.

Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.

Now, add asafoetida, green chillies and mix very well.

Add the potato cubes. Toss them well with the cumin seeds and green chilies.

Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chili powder, sugar and salt to taste as required.

Saute the potatoes for 2 to 3 minutes on low to medium flame till they are crisp stirring often.

Next add coriander leaves and lemon juice.

Mix the whole mixture well. Serve jeera aloo hot with phulkas or pooris.

Ingredients

2 tbsp Desi Ghee
2 tsp Ginger chopped
1 cup Boiled Potato diced
1/2 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Amchur powder
to taste Salt
1 tsp Red chilly powder
2 tbsp Coriander chopped

Steps

Heat ghee and add jeera. Once it pops add chopped ginger and chopped green chilly. Saute for a minute and add boiled & diced potatoes.

Sprinkle salt, turmeric, chilly powder and dry mango powder(amchur). Toss & cook for 2minutes.

Sprinkle chopped coriander, toss & remove. Serve hot.
