Little is known about Buzz Aldrin’s wife, Anca Faur, who married the veteran astronaut on his 93rd birthday.
In a rather surprising announcement, the second man to walk on the moon, Buzz Aldrin announced that he married his long-time partner Anca Faur in a private ceremony.
Even though his wife is in the field of science, Buzz Aldrin and Anca Faur share an entirely different career. Being a pioneering figure in NASA, Aldrin retired from the US space agency in 1971 before serving as commandant of the Aerospace Research Pilot School.
Anca Faur is a medical doctor who presently serves as the executive vice president at Buzz Aldrin’s company, Buzz Aldrin Ventures. Born on May 14, 1959, she completed her PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in 1996.
The 63-year-old’s career began as a project leader at Union Carbide. She went on to work for Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells. Anca Faur has also been a board member of the California Hydrogen Business Council.
Little known by the public, Faur was noticed on several occasions alongside veteran astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
On January 21, Aldrin announced his wedding to Faur saying, “On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot.”

Dr Anca V Faur has married legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin on his 93rd birthday, but who exactly is the blushing bride?
On January 20, 2023 Buzz Aldrin, one of the astronauts on board the 1969 Apollo 11 spaceflight and the second man to walk on the moon after Neil Armstrong, turned 93 and announced he had tied the knot with his “long-time love Dr Anca Faur.”
Aldrin has been married three times before – to Joan Ann Archer (1954 to 1974); Beverly Van Zile (1975 to 1978), and Lois Driggs Cannon (1988 to 2012).
Dr Anca Faur is a medical doctor who serves as executive vice-president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures. As per her LinkedIn profile, she joined the company in 2019. She previously worked at British chemicals company Johnson Matthey for more than 19 years.
Faur completed a PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh in 1996.
Not much is known about Anca Faur’s personal life but she often shares photos of herself and Buzz on Instagram.
