Archibald Charles Manning is an American high school football quarterback at the Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. He committed to play college football for the Texas Longhorns. He is a member of the Manning family.
In his freshman season, Manning was the varsity starter at quarterback, making him the first freshman quarterback to start Newman’s season opener in at least 40 years. He shined in his debut, leading Newman to a 26-point victory.
Manning completed his freshman season with 2,407 yards and 34 touchdowns, earning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors. As a sophomore, Manning opened the season by throwing for six touchdowns.
On October 15, 2020, Manning made his national television debut in a game against Booker T. Washington, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for an additional two.
To avoid a media frenzy, Manning’s family has withheld him from media interviews and also declined premature college scholarship offers.
He also notably runs a private account on Instagram, allowing only friends and coaches to follow him, including Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, who followed Manning only upon the formation of his account.

In his college search he visited SMU, Clemson, LSU, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, and Virginia, as well as his grandfather’s and Eli’s former team, Ole Miss, but verbally committed to Texas.

He is the star quarterback at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans, where he has thrown for 5,731 yards and 72 touchdowns in his first three years of high school football. ESPN adds that Arch has been considered “a top-flight prospect since middle school.”
While any child with the last name “Manning” was going to draw the football world’s attention, one coach who recruited him told ESPN that Arch’s stats speak for himself. “He does have a big arm,” the coach said. “He’s a lot more mobile than everyone thinks.
He’s not like a Manning who can’t move. He can get out of trouble. He’s not a statue in the pocket. He played basketball and can dunk. He’s a prototypical kid that sees the field well.
He’s not going to make bad decisions and not make bad plays worse and will truly run the offense.”
Arch is reportedly” more mobile” than his two uncles when they were coming out of high school.
“He’s got the quickest release that I’ve ever seen, just how fast the ball gets out,” Nelson Stewart, Manning’s coach at Isidore Newman School told ESPN.
