Sahu was born in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. She completed her schooling from D. M. School and BTech graduation from KIIT University.
She is also an Odissi dancer who has won a National Scholarship in Odissi dance.
In 2004, she was crowned Miss Kalinga.
Her first Odia film is O My Love, which was released in 2005.
She has many superhits and 100-day blockbusters.
She is now adjudged as the top actress in Odia film industry.
Besides acting, she is involved in modelling and social work.
She has received the Best Newcomer and Best Actress awards for her celluloid performances.
Her pairing with Sabyasachi has been quite successful.
She is the only actress in Odia film industry to bag State Film Award as Best Actress for three times, awarded by Govt of Odisha.
