Zobrist lives in Franklin, Tennessee. He and his estranged wife, singer Julianna Zobrist (née Gilmore), have three children, one of whom was born five days after Zobrist’s Royals won the 2015 World Series.
Julianna gave birth to Blaise Royal the day after the Royals World Series parade.
In May 2019, Zobrist filed for legal separation in Tennessee on the same day that Julianna Zobrist filed for divorce in Illinois.
Their marital problems had led Zobrist to pause his participation in the 2019 MLB season.
In June 2021, Zobrist filed a lawsuit in Tennessee against his former pastor, Byron Yawn, in which he accused Yawn of defrauding Zobrist’s charity, Patriot Forward, of millions of dollars.
The lawsuit also alleged that Yawn had had a year-long sexual affair with Julianna Zobrist beginning in the spring of 2019.
Zobrist is a former counselor for Camp of Champions USA, a Christian summer day camp in central Illinois.
He speaks at church events about his early life and success, which he credits all to God.
Zobrist often talks about his Christian faith, saying God helped him realize that he was supposed to play baseball.
