Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 31 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved in January 2022.

He has won one ATP Tour singles title and produced his best Grand Slam singles performance at the 2021 US Open after reaching the quarterfinals.

As a junior, Alcaraz was ranked as high as No. 22 in the world and he won two titles on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior circuit.

Since turning professional in 2018, Alcaraz has won three titles on the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour and four on the ATP Challenger Tour. He broke into the top 100 for the first time in May 2021 after winning the 2021 Open de Oeiras III.

Two months later, he reached his first ATP Tour final at the 2021 Croatia Open, during which he clinched his first title after defeating Richard Gasquet, making him the youngest ATP Tour title winner since Kei Nishikori in 2008.

He entered the top 50 after his Grand Slam quarterfinal debut at the 2021 US Open, and his breakout success qualified him for the 2021 Next Generation ATP Finals, the year-end tournament for the top-ranked singles players aged 21 and under, where he later won the title.

At his career-high ranking of No. 32, he closed out the season as the highest-ranked teenager on the ATP Tour for 2021.
