Dulquer Salmaan was born to the popular actor Mammootty and his wife Sulfath Kutty in Kochi.

Dulquer had a deep interest in film direction from a very young age.

When he was 12 years old, he used to make short films by taking his father’s camera.

After completing his graduation, Dulquer worked at a reputed firm in the US as a Business Manager.

He then relocated to Dubai, where he did an IT-related business for some time.

Thereafter, he returned to India and did a three months course in acting from Barry John Acting Studio in Mumbai.

He started his acting career in 2012 by playing the role of Harilal/Lalu in the Malayalam film “Second Show.”

He received a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance in the film.

In 2014, Dulquer appeared in the romantic drama “Bangalore Days,” which was one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films till date.

In 2018, he made his acting debut in Bollywood with the film “Karwan” in which he played the role of ‘Avinash.’

In 2019, Salmaan starred in the Bollywood film “The Zoya Factor” opposite Sonam Kapoor.

He also acted in a short film as part of the Kerala Motor Vehicle department’s safe riding campaign.
