Jahan was born in a Bengali Muslim family in Kolkata, West Bengal, India to Muhammed Shah Jahan and Sushma Khatun on 8 January 1990.
She completed her schooling from Our Lady Queen of the Missions School, Kolkata and then went to college in Bhawanipur College, Kolkata graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree.
She had been in a relationship with businessman Nikhil Jain since 2018 and they had a marriage ceremony on 19 June 2019 in Turkey followed by a reception attended by Mamata Banerjee and Mimi Chakraborty.
Nusrat has claimed that the marriage was not legal- “Being on foreign land, as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the ceremony is invalid.
Moreover, since it was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen”.
As per Nusrat as it was nothing more than a live-in relationship, both of them are now separated.
Nikhil Jain has stated that they lived together as husband and wife and introduced themselves as a married couple in the society.
He has claimed that “I devoted all my time and resources being a faithful and responsible husband.”
On 26th August 2021, she gave birth to a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata.
