Shaheen Afridi 10 Fast Facts, Biography, Wiki

Shaheen belongs to the Zakhakhel Afridi tribe of the Pashtuns.

He grew up in Landi Kotal, a town in Khyber District, Pakistan, on the border with Afghanistan.

He is the youngest of seven brothers; his eldest brother, 15 years his senior, is Riaz Afridi who played a solitary Test match for Pakistan in 2004.

Shaheen started his cricket career from the Tatara Ground in Landi Kotal, which is named after the nearby Tatara hills.

Riaz Afridi introduced Shaheen to hard-ball cricket at the FATA Under-16 trials in 2015, with Shaheen having played only tennis-ball cricket until then.

Success at this level led Shaheen to selection for the Under-16 tour of Australia in November 2015 where he played his part with four wickets in the 2–1 victories in the One-Day and Twenty20 series.

Shaheen Afridi is a huge fan of his brother Riaz Afridi, who played a friendly test match for Pakistan back in 2004.

Shaheen has reportedly stated that although he considers Wasim Akram to be his “guru,” his brother Riaz has always supported and guided him whenever Shaheen has been in need of instant tips.

Afridi said that Shaheen’s family had made a formal approach asking for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Sunday confirmed that his daughter is getting engaged to current national team pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Afridi said that Shaheen’s family had made a formal approach asking for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

“Both families have reached a decision and my daughter is going to be engaged to Shaheen,” Afridi said.

He added that a formal engagement will be announced soon.

Shaheen’s father Ayaz Khan also confirmed that he had sent the proposal to Afridi’s family for his son and it has been accepted.

“We are very happy and both families have been in discussions for the last few months and hopefully now dates will be finalised soon,” he said.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is a Pakistani cricketer who is regarded as one of the tallest bowlers in Pakistani cricket history.

Shaheen Afridi was born on 6 April 2000 at Landi Kotal at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.

He is a left-handed batsman and a left-hand fast bowler.

His primary role in the team is that of a bowler, but he is an aspiring all-rounder.

Later on, he made his List A debut for Baluchistan.
