Sheikh married Seerat Hazir on 24 December 1982, who is also a Pakistani Television personality. They have two sons together.

She resides in Lahore with her family and teaching and directing children’s plays, first at Aitchison College, Lahore and now at Lahore Grammar School, for over 18 years.

Talking about her work, she said that, “I thrive in the environment I work in. With adults, I feel one always has to deliver.

It’s always ‘what’s it going to be this time?’ You’re always on your guard with adults. With children, it’s more natural.

They take you for what you really are. You don’t have to pretend.”

In November 2005, she along with her husband worked with FAME, a welfare organisation to help victims of 8 October 2005 earthquake in Northern Pakistan.

Sheikh was born in Kalaw, Burma, and later migrated to Pakistan in 1965 as a UN refugee and settled in Lahore, Pakistan, with her family, including her aunt, classical musician, Saffia Beyg.

She attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Lahore, and later attended the National College of Arts where she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.

Shehnaz Sheikh is a Pakistani television actress, host, and theatre director.

She has appeared in the drama serials Tanhaiyaan and Ankahi, as well as the show Uncle Sargam.

After her successful television career, she left the industry in the mid-1990s and has since been retired.

The talented actress was discovered by Haseena Moin because no one was able to embody her heroine than Shehnaz Sheikh.

She began her acting career with the PTV drama serial “Ajnabi”.

Next Sheikh made her another debut with the drama serial, “Balila” in 1980 which was written by Shoaib Hashmi.

The show was cancelled later on after airing only a few episodes.

At that time Sheikh already got her fame and her drama was the base of the set of people on the times of the 80s.

She next signed for the Haseena Moin’s written drama serial Ankahi which was directed by Syed Mohsin Ali and Shoaib Mansoor.

The drama main cast was Shakeel Yousuf, Javed Sheikh, Behroze Sabzwari, Badar Khalil, and Qazi Wajid.

She portrayed the role of Sana Murad who is an ambitious and level headed girl from a middle-class family.

This drama was also produced by Pakistan Television Corporation.

She next appeared in another critically acclaimed PTV drama “Maray Thay Jin K Liye” where she played the role of a modern, who is an independent woman but she is still conservative at heart.

Her portrayed in this drama was also praised by people.

Sheikh again collaborated with Hassena Moin, and next then portrayed in a super hit cult classic drama as a businesswoman Zara which got huge critical and commercial success.

The drama serial was Tanhaiyaan, which was directed by Shahzad Kalil.

Shehnaz Sheikh was a brilliant host of her time. She has hosted a couple of TV shows in the early 1990s.

Her few of the famous shows are “Uncle Sargam” who is a puppet character and “Yes Sir No Sir”.

She next hosted the shows “Showbiz Masala” for NTM channel, and “Meri Pasand” for PTV.

Sheikh made her directorial debut in the Agatha Christie’s 1960 theatre play “The Mousetrap” at LGS Paragon in 2010.

Additionally, she has also the judges for “LUMS Dramafest” in 2011.

After spanning a successful showbiz career Sheikh retired from the Pakistan Media Industry in the early years of this decade.
