Leviev was born Shimon Yehuda Hayut in 1990 in Ramat Elchanan, Bnei Brak, Israel. At the age of 15 he moved to Brooklyn, New York in the US with his family’s friends, who later accused him of misusing their credit card.
According to interviews done by Felicity Morris, Leviev has been committing minor cons like cheque fraud since he was a teenager.
He later changed his legal name from Shimon Hayut to Simon Leviev, using the surname Leviev to pretend he was related to Lev Avnerovich Leviev, an Israeli businessman known as “The King of Diamonds”.

Shimon Hayut aka Simon leviev who used to con females under various identity globally is now roaming free on the streets back to hsis lavish life. Whereas the victims are still suffering from the debts.
He claims to be an israeli entrepreneur and a businessman but, the world has now labelled him as a recongised farudtser for cheating women claimming to be the heir of Leviev family.

As per the documentary and few reports since his teen age he was involved in con activities. Later he left his home and changed his name and title to Leviev to pretend to be related to Lev Avnerovich Leviev, an Israeli diamond tycoon. He is 31 years old as of 2022.
Well, while the world now knows him as an acclaimed fraudster, he still calims himself to be an Israeli businessman, entrepreneur and even started a website to give people business advice after his bail from the prison.
As per media resources he is a graduate and used to attend Talmud Torah elementary school for his high schooling.

Hayut was charged with burglary, counterfeiting, and fraud in 2011 after cashing stolen cheques. He never appeared in court and fled the nation with a forged passport under the name Mordechai Nisim Tapiro.
He was then apprehended in Finland in 2015 and sentenced to three years in jail for scamming multiple women. But, everytime he used to escape though the situation either by serving his early sentence or running from thee country through fake identity.
He was sentenced for 15 months after which in 2020 he was let out of it owing to covid 19.
