Vikas Khanna was born with lopsided legs and got them fixed in his 13 years of age.
Owing to the above mentioned condition, Vikas couldn’t move properly and hence had to spend scores of his time in kitchen, wherein his grandma would be cooking food for the family.
Seeing her Grandma cooking meals, he also created his interest in the similar field.
Enthused by his elder brother, Vikas Khanna firstly decided to pursue his career in Engineering, though afterwards dropped that idea on account of his poor mathematical abilities.
At his 17 years of age, he instituted a small Banquet Hall called “Lawrence Gardens” wherein he served both as a caterer as well as an organizer for family functions and kitty parties.
Vikas’ documentary called Kitchens of Gratitude which focuses on the healing power of food and its association with world religions was released during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2016. This documentary marks Vikas’ debut as a director.
Vikas was inspired by his grandmother who loved to cook, and her kitchen became a part of his foundational training.
Khanna has been linked up with Shipra Khanna, the winner of the second season of Master Chef India.
He bought a house across from the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
