Rico Blanco was born at Manila Doctors Hospital in Ermita, Manila on March 17, 1973, to Rene Aldeguer Blanco of Iloilo City and Purita Crisostomo Granados of Leyte, Leyte.

Rico Blanco has engraved his name as one of the most iconic Filipino musicians in recent history.
He is one of the founding members of the famous alternative rock band Rivermaya.
As a solo artist, the singer is known for his chart-topping singles such as “Antukin”, “Wag Mong Aminin”, “Your Universe”, and “Yugto”.
The artist founded the band Rivermaya with Jesse Gonzalez, Kenneth Ilagan, Nathan Azarcon and Rome Velayo in 1993.
He is the son of Rene Aldeguer Blanco and Purita Crisostomo.
The artist grew up in San Pedro, Laguna alongside three other siblings namely, Rey “King” Blanco, Patrice Blanco and Heart Blanco-Elizon.
In recent news, the singer revealed in an interview that his recent two-year break from music is partially because he wanted to spend more time with his family.
